Screen Printed Heat Transfer Instruction

Step 1 - Setup Heat Press

  • Set your heat press to the right temperature for your substrate and transfer film (exact temperatures in the next step).
  • Check that the substrate is clean and free of debris or creases.
  • Place the heat transfer on the substrate, printed side facing down.
  • Use a cover sheet to shield the transfer and heat press plates from direct contact; this keeps the ink from clinging to the press and gives even heat.

Step 2 - Time to Press

  • For cotton and cotton/poly blends, press at 285-290°F.
  • For 100% polyester or other synthetics, press at 265-270°F.
  • Once the transfer is aligned, gently close the heat press so it doesn't shift.
  • Press for 12 seconds directly on the transfer at high pressure.

Step 3 - Peel & Press Again

  • Peel off the transfer paper while it is still warm, or 5 seconds after pressing.
  • Press again for another 5 seconds with a thin piece of cloth or craft paper on top of the print.
DO NOT WASHFOR 24HR

Step 4 - What not to do

  • Do not wash the garment for 24 hrs after the heat press.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
